AACD Participating Member Avo Samuelian, DDS has taken a unique approach to combining art and science in his Flatiron district dental practice. A well-known patron of the NY art scene, Dr. Samuelian exchanges dental work for artwork, which he displays throughout his office.
In a recent The New York Times Style Magazine article, Dr. Samuelian explains how his interest in art started with an obsession to own a Warhol.
He did end up purchasing a Warhol, but now most of the artwork on the walls of Gotham Dental is the result of bartering. As he explained in The New York Times Style Magazine article, “Usually it’s young or up-and-coming artists who want to do trades . . . When I trade with more well-established artists, usually they then take care of all their studio assistants.”
